My name is Yohan Samel and I’m a 28 year old videographer/video editor residing in West London & Southampton. I formerly worked as a backstage runner and later as an assistant director from 2013 to 2017.

 

In 2018, I momentarily moved to Southampton to pursue my graduate studies only to discover a strong passion & liking for videography and video editing. Currently, freelancing for various video production businesses and clients as their GO-TO videographer and video editor, I film and/or edit various types of content independently and/or as part of a filming crew. I have most regularly filmed & edited videos for the Hampshire County Council, Hampshire Constabulary, Southampton City Council, Southampton Football Club, Warsash Maritime Academy, Solent University, New Community Church and University of Southampton.

 

Often been part of Solent Production’s camera and video production crew in London on some of their high profile corporate projects, events/interviews, conferences etc. Filming live music at Abbey Road Studios is one of my most cherished memories, although my experience working as a broadcast camera operator/vision mixer/video editor on some of the UK's well-known music festivals like Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Boardmasters and Nass is considerably my biggest and most grateful opportunity as a camera person yet.

 

I am a do-er, my experiences enable me to work efficiently and quickly with clear technical and creative communication skills. Being extremely passionate about audio-visual storytelling in its highest quality standards makes me genuinely interested in all aspects of video production. I’m easily adaptable to working within different forms of visual languages and mediums (references will be provided upon request).

 

Eating right & working out regularly to keep fit in order to sustain myself at high levels of creative intensity for long hours and/or working in regular shifts is also something I personally take pride in.
